Tailored by Design is a small local business that has been serving the Austin community with their sewing and alternation needs since 2001. With over 35 years of sewing and alteration experience, the owner and operator, Dideh, has always been passionate about making each garment fit perfectly right and tailored to each individual. Attention to details, decades of experience working with all fabrics, fit and apparel trends, deep knowledge of how each item of clothing is supposed to fit each body type, and quality of work distinguish the master tailor Dideh’s work products.

We understand that cost of alterations could sometimes be a concern. That is why we focus on providing great value to our customers while remaining sensitive to their budget. Depending on the garment and fabric type, the extent of alterations needed, and the details of the work required, sometimes it could take considerable time to achieve that perfect fit. In most cases, we are able to and will provide upfront cost to you. We will explain the work we propose to do. However, we will also work with you and your budget to balance the cost with great results and value of what you receive. Our ultimate goal is to have you leave happy, look your best, and come back to visit us again!

I was so nervous that it wasn’t going to be ready in time, especially since dress alterations weeks to complete. I took my Vintage Leather Bomber jacket in for some updates (those padded shoulders  ) &  she suggested a couple of other things that could be done to make it even better. So happy I went in !
